A meditation journey from October 2019.
I asked Elephant, How do we heal the broken parts?
Pay close attention. Listen to the stories. And beyond the stories. Because the pain is usually somewhere else with deeper origins. And the hearts reside beneath layers and layers of stories. You will need patience to access the hearts. You will have to create a safe place for hearts to reveal themselves, and you can only create that safe space by being that safe space. So you must check yourself. You must clear anger and mistrust and judgment. You must root to the best parts of yourself so you can be with the pain and discomfort so you can sit with it rather than dismiss or “fix” it.
Once the broken parts reveals themselves. See them. It may be painful and overwhelming, but you must see what’s really broken. It is not always the parts that you wish you could change. Some things are simply part of a journey. Not everything that is unappealing or unpleasant is broken. Assess this way: find the spaces where love it absent and fill those spaces. Make sure you include yourself in this assessment.
It is that simple. And it is also a challenge that can consume a lifetime.
The world is porous. There are so many spaces in need of love. Keep your eyes open and bring it everywhere. Do not be focused on a “mission” - this IS the mission. More than a song or a mantra, love really is the answer. But it is not the grand gestures and impressive accomplishments – that is ego feeding what IT loves. Ego wants to BE the shining light. Love has more to do with making the space for every heart to shine its light. Love is making room. An open heart is shines out, but the other part of openness is in the receiving. Other hearts are trying to shine and part of your purpose is to receive that light. It is that synergy that creates wisdom and solutions and peace. All of the answers to the problems that distress you reside in that merging of light. What you often experience as “magic” is the light of another person’s heart reflecting your own back to you. That is the gift of another person’s light.
Practice this and healing will come. Because it cannot just come from you.
Nice reflection. Didn't know you had an elephant. Love you, Dad
