“Never Again,” they always say.  But they assume they’d recognize “again.”

So many fail to see history repeating itself when a new cast is inserted into humanity’s ultimate cautionary tale. They forget that atrocities don’t begin with concentration camps.

The enduring lesson of the Holocaust and the genocides that followed is that they occurred not simply because of the machinery of death, but because of a state-sanctioned ideology of hate. This teaching of contempt, this demonizing of the other - this is where it all begins.

We all know what can happen when human beings are reduced to typhus-carrying Jews. Why did people expect it to be any different when we reduced people to COVID-carrying antivaxxers?

https://perspectives.ushmm.org/item/propaganda-poster-jews-are-lice-they-cause-typhus

Antivaxxers have been tagged as the new acceptably marginalized.  Once again, the general population has become fearful enough of a minority group that it is socially acceptable to hate, suppress and exclude them. And there is a larger threat looming with even broader implications:  Many have lost faith in humanity.

Humanity - and the uncertainty and vulnerability that come with it - is too risky. We have lost faith in our bodies and our ability to heal. We have lost faith in the integrity and resilience of the human spirit.  And from that disenchanted space, pandemic fears proliferate and the promises of medical and scientific technology are tempting.

But have we jumped off a natural learning curve into a sea of broken promises? Many who leapt before us have been trying to warn us of potential problems that may await us. There are holes in our life boats.

Would it kill people to listen?

Media pundits and public health officials try to convince us that it might - that it’s dangerous to listen to antivaxxers - but take a moment to consider the humans of medical freedom…

Who Are These “Antivaxxers” Anyway?

First, let’s be clear. What most of us are fighting for is choice. Informed consent, to be precise. You can read more about that here:

The "Anti-vaxxers" I know have a unifying principle that is not about vaccines - it's about informed consent and medical freedom. Among them are parents who vaccinated their children according to the CDC-recommended schedule and then watched their children suffer from any number of debilitating conditions. Some watched them die. Other parents want some vaccines, but simply don't think others are necessary. And while some parents have done their own research and are unwilling to subject their children to any vaccines, they are working alongside other parents who just want safer vaccines. There are also people who don't know how they feel about vaccines, but simply believe that parents, not the government, should have the right to decide what can be injected into their children. In my experience, these people are educated, compassionate respectful and profoundly dedicated. And NONE of them are getting rich off their beliefs. In fact, the most lucrative thing many of us could do right now is publically change our minds.

Many feel that $cience is at war with nature.  Those “miracles of science” destroyed the health of their children or their own bodies.

You are told these people are “rare.” You are also told to ignore correlation and accept coincidences, mysteries, SIDS and SADS.

For many of us, it’s humanity we are trying to preserve. We have witnessed profound and preventable suffering and we worry for the next generation. We are watching the rapid integration of AI and biotechnology into healthcare and the questions that once made us “conspiracy theorists” have become increasingly relevant. What was once science fiction is becoming U.S. policy.

But agree or disagree, these people are PEOPLE and they deserve to be treated that way. To me this community is a beautiful and evolving microcosm of humanity.

Are we perfect? No. We’re human.

Do we have all the answers? Again, no. But we have worked harder to uncover the truth than most. And I think we’re over the target much of the time.

Either way, we may be the closest thing humanity has to a functioning immune system. Primed by previous assaults and repeated challenges, we are well-equipped to identify new threats and offer protection. We have built up a resistance to fear-based propaganda and social pressure and we continue to learn new ways to heal every day.

We’re censored, not because we’re dangerous to the public, but because we are dangerous to the pharma-endorsed narrative. $cience will not fund our pursuit of truth, so many of our theories are coming to fruition in real world data… POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndromes), “breakthrough cases”, inflammatory syndromes, neurological issues, myocarditis…. Died suddenly.

We weren’t looking to be right. We read the early animal studies and were hoping to avoid the experiment all together. But now that these things are happening, we’re here to hold $cience accountable.

We’re also learning though that it’s not enough to have the truth on our side. We have to get rid of sides. Those who have put their faith in scientific consensus will never hear the truth from “antivaxxers” until they can see the human beings in front of them.

This, as I see it, is the work we have before us. We’ve built beautiful bridges out of shared values. We can build more.

Bearing witness to the honest struggles of this community and the people within it reveals the forced evolution of the human spirit. Borne of passion, pain and principle, the medical freedom community has grown into a movement of inclusion, respect, open-heartedness.  We are not enemies of science. We are it’s conscience.

The medical freedom community I know is truly diverse. We represent members of every race, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, occupation and vaccination status. We are bonded by a belief in principles that force us to overcome other differences.  There is something about being cast aside and misunderstood that brings about a level of support and compassion that aren’t readily seen elsewhere. We mourn losses and celebrate victories together. We pool resources and create solutions together. We keep each other company. We hug…. A LOT. Adversity constantly challenges this community to find new ways to be seen, heard and understood, so we continue to cultivate new skill sets as we go.

And we practice listening and questioning all the time.

Everyday People. Extraordinary Humans.

Our community is a dazzling spectrum of hearts and voices. We have pediatricians like Paul Thomas and Bob Sears, who have risked their careers to provide true informed consent.  We have Sherri Tenpenny's spicy no-nonsense style and Larry Palevksy's butter-smooth explorations of scientific method… the medical detective work of Meryl Nass.  We have also been joined by physicians and scientists like Paul Marik, Aaron Kheriaty, Sunetra Gupta, FLCCC doctors and thousands of others, who continue to demonstrate that they are willing to remain on a sometimes painful learning curve to “First Do No Harm.”

And then there are the nurses - these folks are gladiators when it comes to protecting their patients!

We have larger than life personalities like Del Bigtree and Naomi Wolf. We have the poetic appeals of Louise Kuo Habakus and the spiritual community-building of Sayer Ji and Charles Eisenstein. We have relentless truth seekers like Celia Farber, Margaret Anna Alice and Toby Rogers. We have Mary Holland's approachable brilliance and RFK Jr's moral courage. We even have a Disney mom. - Good Luck Charlie’s Leigh Allyn Baker.

Compassionate crusaders, every one. And there are soooo many more.

But it’s not the public personas and the health freedom “celebrities” that will save us. It’s US. This is a Stone Soup movement. Everyone chips in. Every voice matters. Passionate and dedicated people from all walks of life throughout the world, donating skills, resources, time and energy to a cause we believe in. Namely, our children.

We rely on these people - the ones who repeatedly show up in big and small ways to lend their voices or support. They carpool to state capitols or babysit so that parents of vaccine-injured children can attend events. They donate goods and services, call legislators and host small community-building events. They run for school boards. They share gardening tips and home remedies.

Moms have created organizations and changed the legislative landscape while juggling toddlers or caring for adult children who were injured by vaccines. Children’s Health Defense, Innovative Parenting, Freedom Travel Alliance, Stand For Health Freedom, OpenVAERS, American Health & Freedom Coalition, … soooo many incredible organizations driven by the love of parents.

Melanie Dragone masterfully builds bridges between parents, medical freedom groups and legislators so that everyone can help or find help when they need it. “Nurse Jen” single-handedly saves lives, both in and out of the hospital setting, answering panicked phone calls and walking people through COVID’s insane medical landscape. Dominique Venezia is sometimes the only member of the public to show up and testify at her local board of health meetings. LaRonda Gumm shares her travel rewards to help get others to rallies and events. Stephanie Locricchio teaches yoga classes between between conference calls to organize advocacy events. Jennifer Margulis makes beautiful hand-drawn stationery when she isn’t writing books and spreading truth. Tetyana Obukanych teaches practical immunology classes to parents who want to be more informed… And there are so many others whose "drops in the bucket" are now creating a tidal wave of change.

Mainstream media and regulatory authorities are constantly mystified by this scrappy grassroots movement.  They complain about our abundance of “talking points” (aka science) and wonder where we get our funding (we don’t).  They fail to recognize that this entire movement is driven by deeply held principles and a desire to protect a future for our children.

They don’t get it because it’s primarily a labor of love.

It’s not the first time the world failed to see the humanity in an inconvenient minority. I think we have a chance to show the world what’s in our hearts. And I think they need to see it. If we do it right, we can show people that not only are we human beings, we are allies creating a safe space for everyone. And we are inviting them into it with open arms.

The healing is already in progress. If you have been part of this movement, you have already created a soft place to land for others who are now asking questions and looking for support. People are finding us. They are sharing their stories. They are standing up.

So, thank you. I’m so grateful to walk beside you in these uncertain times.

Let’s keep going!
