I, Robot, am your new doctor
Introducing the Healthy Technology Act of 2023 (aka HR206)
The real health crisis isn’t opioid addiction. It’s not even vaccines. It’s convenience addiction, which is the gateway to accepting all of BigPharma’s pie-crust promises (“easily made, easily broken” as Mary Poppins would say).
And it’s only going to get worse if we let it.
Here comes Amazon Clinic. Because push-button, instant gratification “health care” is the wave of the future… if you allow it to be.
Dehumanized medicine is all the rage.
Because who needs human interaction in medicine anyway?
In fact, who even needs doctors? As Tessa Lena points out, proposed legislation is paving the way to make them obsolete.
On January 9, 2023, David Schweikert introduced H.R. 206. The Healthy Technology Act of 2023 would:
…amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to clarify that artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies can qualify as a practitioner eligible to prescribe drugs if authorized by the State involved and approved, cleared, or authorized by the Food and Drug Administration, and for other purposes. (emphasis mine)
It’s another iteration of H.R. 5467 (117th): Healthy Technology Act of 2021 from the same sponsor, and I suspect it will come back in various forms until the idea of AI doctors gains acceptance.
Before you sign up for this “new and improved”, easy-peasy form of health care, stop and notice how healthy we have become as a result of all the modern conveniences…
There are other ways… cultivated, slow, lasting, meaningful ways… Here’s just one.
But there are many. And they don’t disappear when the power goes out.
Hard pass 🤦🏻♂️
