Justine Bateman just came on my radar this week and the resonance was immediate. Her #SocialMediaVideoCritique of TikTok videos being posted in response to election results is a creative and refreshing proclamation and I’m here for it.
We don’t have to take everything so seriously.
We can stop tip-toeing around offended people and reclaim humor and art.
My post election sigh of relief had a lot more to do with this:
What I’m really excited about is that the political correctness… the woke era is over. Because you need mob mentality momentum in order to keep that going. In order to threaten people if they’re not thinking and talking the way you do… to threaten their lives, threaten their careers, threaten their place in society.. you need that momentum in order to do that and when Trump won the presidency again, that cut that momentum off. So this whole woke era is over…
…Yes, things have changed politically obviously, but it’s spiritual. It’s a spiritual shift. It started a little bit when Elon Musk bought Twitter and turned it into X and it really changed when Donald Trump won this presidency. I can feel it…
For the last four years, very acutely, and I know it preceded the last four years as well, but there’s been kind of a pressing down… and kind of limiting what people can say. And what happens too is you kind of limit what can even occur in society.
So there’s been a stagnation. Things haven’t been moving forward… in the arts, in philosophy, in politics, in medicine. In anything. And I don’t mean technical things, technological advances… I mean innovation with your thought, with what is coming into your spirit from God, magic, the universe, whatever you want to call it. That’s been stagnated for at least four years. And now that’s changed and that’s what I’m really excited about. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.
Stagnation, yes! And I’m tired of everything being about politics when it’s not. We keep getting pulled back into politics, where nothing but government grows… as it consumes everything around it.
Stagnation explains the blockages in our spirituality, our communication, our circulation, our creativity, our ability to travel, work, heal, speak, move, think, learn, feel. Everything got stuck. Inhibited. Tangled.
Soooo much stagnation. Most of the population has been tiptoeing through the most unstable emotional minefield I’ve ever encountered - a world where candor or questions could cost your career and get you cancelled and vilified. It’s led to social hypervigilence… to cultural autoimmunity and an erosion of trust in friends and neighbors. As a Chinese medicine practitioner, I have been seeing this everywhere. Feeling it on pulses. Experiencing it myself. It’s not new, but it has become very acute.
And, I agree with Justine. I’m excited about all of these opportunities to get energy moving freely again.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m delighted about Trump appointing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be US Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). Stagnation in public health is deadly and I’m hopeful that Bobby will Make America Healthy Again.
But this is the byproduct of a flow that’s been restored. This happened because of open hearts and open minds that kept truth and freedom in circulation.
I’m thinking a dance party might be the way to celebrate. Let’s keep things flowing!
I agree with Justine as well. And the part that you mentioned, about stagnation is what really caught my attention. In different words, people have been talking about this more and more. When I talk about this, I talk about The Will and compression. When someone like A Midwestern Doctor talks about it, he specifically mentions "stuck emotions" being the cause of many lower back issues, etc.
Here you talk about "seeing it everywhere" and feeling it in pulses! That is something! I often wish that I had learned more about the medicine and spiritual sides of traditional Chinese practices. It's really great that there are people with that talent out there!
In terms that I'm more familiar with, along the lines of how Justine described "a pushing down", that is what I call compression and is ultimately becomes the death of the will. Our wills need to be vibrant, flowing, and expansive. Stagnation or stuckness will bring much more than sore backs.
Hey hey ... SAY NO TO WIMPY WOME WIRD SALAD ! Fact: THE FASCIST ERA IS ALIVE WELL ( well SICK actually) and Ready To roundly Kick our Derrière .Do Not get fooled by the flaccidity of that sweetly pejorative word “ woke” is so Nothing! . This Word that describes NOTHING like what happened and it CERTAINLY doesn’t come close to describing the tyranny that befell us . It stops peopke THINKING HISTRORICSLKY -and if we don’t-then our bosses and bankers and war mungoerscand forced injection clinics will be back in the blink of an asleep eye
