Will NJ Mandate the COVID Vaccine for NJ Students?

So when the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) added COVID shots to it’s recommended childhood schedule, the red flags went up.

Senator Joe Vitale, who chairs the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee, expressed support for a COVID “vaccine” mandate for kids before a shot was even available for children.

"When and if there is a vaccine for COVID-19 that is safe and effective for children, we should consider adding that to the list of those that are required for entry into schools," Sen. Joseph Vitale told Patch this week. "Just like we did for polio and small pox and measles, mumps, rubella. Unless there is a medical exemption."

Enough already.

New Jersey advocates have been holding the line for years, but in 2019 they came together by the thousands to oppose S2173, a bill that would have removed religious exemptions for NJ school children. Many showed up in Trenton day after day to protest outside the statehouse in freezing temperatures in what has come to be known as the Battle of Trenton 2.0.

As Senator Mike Testa said, “America happened” that day.

But America should be happening EVERY DAY. The Constitution was supposed to codify the rights we fought for in Trenton. But if that’s not clear enough, let’s make it clearer. We can start by getting familiar with all the paths to tyranny and blocking them.
