In the 1960s I became a great fan of the Transcendentalists, especially Emerson & Thoreau. They became kin who give me comfort and strength in difficult times; they seem present though long dead. Here is an Emerson reminder: "Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. What if they are a little coarse, and you may get your coat soiled or torn? What if you do fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice. Up again, you shall never be so afraid of a tumble." Honestly do not know what to do. Bartender for a year due to convid mandates. Back in the operating room and hate it. Did get an exemption but all I see are organs that look like petrified wood. Coworkers hacking coughs fill the air. Young women with blocked fallopian tubes. Post-menopausal women with heavy bleeding.
Wow. That must be very hard to witness. So many people are in survival mode. That’s a big part of the problem. It’s hard to dream from that space. Sending you love as you navigate those decisions.
Fear of loss. Stops you from taking drastic action, the known unpleasantness is predictable while the unknown is scary. Ironically,if as a society we don’t challenge what is happening we stand to lose it all.
FAITH over fear - I lean into our Creator's love & protection & trust my intuition for our Lord lives in the Truth & the Light of Truth will come to pass. I will never stop speaking truth to medical tyranny - my Soul is not for sale - I pray hard for humankind. Dear Lord, deliver us from evil. Thank you ATR for your article ...

Wow. I hadn’t heard it that way, but what a powerful point! We’re going to have to overcome our fear of social discomfort.
