Leave the World Behind, the Netflix movie co-produced by the Obamas, invites us to expand our limited thinking just enough to include the apocalyptic potential of global power.
I will not watch - I will not feed the 'evil' wolf. I will continue to connect with loved ones, spend time in the Natural World - G.O.D - GreatOutDoor & will never stop speaking TRUTH to tyranny. GOD is my refuge & lives in the TRUTH ...
I watched this movie the other night with my wife and felt the same exact way you did, that watching it was horrible for me. Earlier that same day I read an article, probably on ZeroHedge, that discussed how the "elites" were predicting a cyber attack in 2024. If these douche bags know that something like cyber attack is going to occur why don't they stop it? Because they want it to occur. I also believe that they put out shit like this movie in order for things like a cyberattack to enter the collective consciousness, more people who fear these things, and spend energy on doing so, help bring it into reality.
I watched and had the same reaction you did. Being curious...I ordered the book. I wanted to see how closely the movie resembled the book. The differences are noteworthy and disturbing. Arguably confirmation of your premise.
I write a SS. Have thought about doing an essay on the differences....the devil is in the details. Thank you for your essay.
A few years ago I spent a month with a girlfriend in Alabama while she recovered from surgery. Her favorite show was The Walking Dead and she was watching the entire series from the beginning, so I did with her. Stunning. It didn't cause fear, and instead I found myself laughing through most of it as I don't believe in zombies. Aside from that I felt the people were weak in rational thought and critical thinking skills, and I decided that in most cases I'd be better off alone. I also noticed that when confronted with a bully even though there were enough of them to overpower him they were so brainwashed with fear they didn't even attempt to rid themselves of the most evil person who was controlling their lives which to me was simply disgusting and unforgivable as he killed more of their people than te zombies.
Moral of the story is that we should never rely on the government, our family, our friends. We need to prepare ourselves to care for our own. When the time comes we rely on our skills and own training, and do our best to judge those we know. It may be difficult but when survival is the focus we may have to seriously consider who we help and who we keep out of our inner circle of trust. Knowing history is a huge benefit. Resist at all cost.
I could never bring myself to watch The Walking Dead. The zombie genre really creeps me out. I've decided that it's the soullessness that makes the monster. And in that way, monsters are very real. But I also don't want to focus on the monsters. I feel much better when I turn my attention to the beautiful humans who are doing their best to grow through all of this.
That is the best choice. I think people who watch that genre are ones with dark minds and negative attitudes about life and outcomes. I actually tend to be more positive and know that God has his hand on everything because so much is out of my control, but a lot is dependent on my reaction and calm problem solving. I was glad when I could come home and didn't have to watch anymore. Helping others find a way to get through difficult life events is more to my liking.
Very well put! Like the mainstream media, TV and Hollywood films are both part of the "Great Poisoning." Walking away from them makes another level or dimension of freedom available to us that is hard to put into words. Suffice it to say, life is much better without them, IMO.

And thank you ATR for your article - powerful. Blessings to you ...

That’s how it feels to me. And the absence of humanity was pretty stunning. It’s like they can’t even fake it anymore.
