Today, S3240, a bill that would automatically enroll people into a vaccine tracking system, passed through New Jersey’s Senate Health Committee. We knew it was likely. Thanks to many of you, thousands of emails were sent and calls were made, and at least some of our legislators heard us. But we’re going to have to get louder. I was one of a handful of people who showed up in Trenton to oppose the bill and one of three people to testify. We need more voices.
Thank you for “showing up” and for raising such critical talking points. The words “vaccine preventable disease” is chilling especially if the government is deciding arbitrarily what is deemed vaccine preventable.
The late French philosopher, Michel Foucault (1926-1984), is credited with saying the following: "Just like prospects, no matter how serious a given situation, there are always different options for action and change, although very limited in some cases. Foucault's position is that to ignore unjust practices within the social body is to tolerate and perpetuate their existence, thus condemning a whole section of the population to despair. Although there are always multiple social and historical constraints, there is always a way to change these constraints – namely, a margin of freedom. Foucault therefore assumes that people will always seek to modify the actions of others. In short, to wield power - but that assumes, at the same time, that people will resist such attempts. To quote Foucault, if only for the last time, and in doing so, paraphrasing him (of course!), in connection with the homo Deus of a Schwab or a Harari(*): "How does it mean that in Western Christian culture, the government of men demands of those who are led not only acts of obedience and submission, but also acts of truth? This requires not only that the subject tell the truth, but that he tell the truth about himself, his faults, his desires and the state of his soul (harari*)... And so on? (Michel Foucault, 1926-1984)
I wanted to be there yesterday but couldn’t make it. We are gaining momentum slowly. Hopefully some people learned something from your testimony.

It’s those little phrases that leave so much room for social control.

Thank you for this. I need to sit with it. Meanwhile, here’s to widening the margin of freedom. 🙏
Thank you for fighting. Bill Gates and his self proclaimed elite billionaires look at us as cattle. The days of playing nice are winding down.
